Born 9 Jun 1938. Entered BGS in the third year as a 13 + pass from Torrington Secondary Modern. Travelled by bus with numerous other pupils including Barry Davey, Michael Tyler, Robin Tyler (deceased) and Peter Popham.
Excelled at Middle Distance running, went on the Geoff Dyson Athletics Course at Motspur Park London to relay the latest training methods back to the school.
Passed 5 GCE “O” Levels then joined the Metropolitan Police; tried for CID but failed. However, I won the Met. Mile in 1958, and was 4th in the British Police Championships at White City.
Left the Met. in late ’69 then spotted as a Cabaret singer (Top Talent Agency, Doris Bray etc in London). Self-employed in later years.
Retired to Radstock Nr. Bath. Now age 83 in June 2021.
