I was lucky to be admitted to the school when family moved to Devon in 1968, having failed my 11 plus in Buckinghamshire. Subsequent academic achievement suggested that Drog had made a bad call!
However, I thoroughly enjoyed my time on the sports field and in extra-curricular activities, maintaining a couple of close friendships with fellow old boys to this date.
After a 24-year career in Barclays, I moved into golf management, working for the European Tour for 5 years and then two stints of club management at Royal County Down in Northern Ireland and Rye in East Sussex.
After retiring in 2016, we moved to Lancashire to be near family. Both daughters attended Manchester University and settled in this lovely part of the world (except for the weather).
Attendance at the OBA annual dinner has been patchy as a result, but the words of the school song are forever remembered.
