Attendance at BGS was 1955/56 in the first form. Left December 1961.
Must admit it was never a happy time at school, not being an academic or sporting great.
Started as an apprentice with GPO Telephones Feb 1962. Went into engineering and technology and never looked back: IEng, MIET.
On reflection ‘Geneva’ and Barnstaple Tech may have been better for me. Still, BGS did teach me manners and a sense of responsibility that seems to be missing these days.
